Barade
Château Barade is situated in the foothills of Bossugan, in the heart of the Entre-deux-Mers region. The vineyard is planted on clay-limestone soils, and the vines composed of 95% Merlot and 5% Cabernet Sauvignon are on average twenty years old. The estate is in the hands of winemaker Laurent Dard, and has been in the family since 1956, when Laurent's grandfather bought the first vines. He started off with just 5 hectares, but now 35 hectares of vines are planted and some 250,000 bottles of wine are produced each year. Today Laurent is helped in the running of the estate by his son, Florian.
