Lacourte Godbillon
The Lacourte and Godbillon families have been growing grapes in the Montagne-de-Reims area of Champagne for several generations, selling their production to the Grandes Marques. In 1947, they began bottling under their own name. When the Lacroute-Labasse's son married the Godbillon-Marie's daughter, they established the Lacourte-Godbillon brand in 1968. Starting with just a few thousand bottles, bottling and disgorgement was just done in the back a courtyard.
Today, Geraldine Lacourte, alongside husband Richard Desvignes and a team of just three others, strive to deliver the utmost care and attention to this exceptional terroir. True growers in every sense, they own all 8ha of their vineyards, and are committed to converting the entirety of their land to organic principles - with some biodynamic practices thrown in for good measure.
