Ch Haut Monplaisir
Here you are in the heart of the Cahors appellation, to discover the origin of the famous grape variety Malbec. Château Haut-Monplaisir, located at Lacapelle-Cabanac, is managed by Cathy and Daniel Fournié. While always remaining autonomous, they have approached Pascal and Jean-Marc Verhaeghe (Château du Cèdre), two of the greatest “creators of Malbec” in the world.
A successful collaboration allowing Cathy and Daniel to affirm the style of each of their cuvees. After having decided to put cover growth in between the vines and totally ban the use of herbicides, they logically entered into conversion towards organic farming for the entire property. Started at their arrival at Château Haut-Monplaisir (1998), this conversion is now accomplished. Today the estate covers nearly 30 hectares of vines.
