Soufrandiere
Brothers Jean-Philippe and Jean-Guillaume Bret grew up in Paris, went to wine school, apprenticed at a number of notable vineyards around France and USA, and took over the family domain located in Vinzelles, in 1998. Their estate La Soufrandiere, consists of 4 ha of Pouilly-Vinzelles "Les Quarts" and 0.55 ha of Pouilly-Vinzelles "Les Longeays". All the vines are at least 23 years old and some well above 70 years of age.
They are well situated in the middle or high part of the South-East-facing slope of clay and limestone. The brothers work according to the specifications of Biological Agriculture since 2000 and are using organic and biodynamic methods. Organic and biodynamic methods are not a guarantee of better quality, but in the Bret Bros hands the results are astounding.
