Pigeade
The Vaute family, who came from farming backgrounds, purchased Domaine de la Pigeade in 1960. The domaine covers 26 hectares of vineyards, 18 ha of which are situated in Beaumes de Venise, 5 ha in Ventoux, 2 ha in Vacqueyras, and the rest in Côtes du Rhône.
Thierry and Marina Vaute have been the driving forces behind Domaine de la Pigeade since 1996 when Thierry, a local iconoclast, ended his wine-making education and came home to take over the estate from his father. The family has invested extensively in the vineyards, steadily reducing yields, and practicing sustainable agriculture. While a building from the sixteenth century houses the winery, the youth of the cellars allows Thierry to be both modern and innovative, producing exceptional wines year in and year out.
