Soft wood sets off the markedly more floral and spice-infused nose of red and dark berries, earth and ever-so-mildly wild aromas. There is excellent volume and ample punch to the concentrated, serious and powerful middle weight plus flavours; indeed this is a big and robust wine that delivers first-rate complexity on the dusty and serious finale. Patience will definitely be required but this beauty should be well worth the wait.
