Description
Delicate and structured, this is a plot of old vines grown on on a mid-slope plot of chalk with a west facing exposure. An intense expression of Chardonnay with the minerality of the terroir coming through on the palate. Very dry with a dosage of 3-4 g/l.
Disgorged in February 2019 with 4 g/l dosage, the 2015 vintage represents the debut of a new cuvée from Laherte. Deriving from two chalky plots lcoated in the village of Chavot-Choucourt in the Côteaux Sud d'Epernay, it's showing beautifully, wafting from the glass with inviting aromas of citrus oil, crushed oyster shell, dried white flowers and crisp green apple. Full-bodied, pillowy and incisive, with a layered and concentrated core, racy acids and a delicate pinpoint mousse, it concludes with a finish to intensely sapid, indeed almost mordant chalkiness - whichi lends the wine dynamism rare in this ripe vintage. 95 pts, William Kelley Wine Advocate
