Description
During the 1800's the citizens of Burgundy began to name their villages after vineyards, with many of the better known towns taking the name of their top Climat, Chambolle-Musigny was no execption taking on Musigny in 1882. This single vineyard was officially classified with Grand Cru status in 1936 and is one of the only vineyards at this level to produce wine from Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. The Musigny vineyard is located at the southern point of the Village, with over half of the vineyard being owned by Comte Georges de Vogüé. This is one of the finest wines to be produced in Burgundy, aging gracefully in the cellar for at least 15 years.
