Château Figeac, the great name of Bordeaux
For many Kiwis, there has always been a soft spot for Château Figeac, with a lot of extraordinary bottles consumed. Mme Manoncourt, owner of St Emilion Premier Grand Cru Classé ‘B’ Château Figeac, has left a mark on many with her memorable visit.
One of the great names of Bordeaux, Figeac sets the benchmark for the properties of St Emilion. This is one of the few estates in Bordeaux that has been occupied for over 2,000 years. Most recently by the Manoncourt family who have been occupying it for almost 130 years now. The estate sits on a modest 40 hectares and that 40 hectares being some of the most outstanding terroir in Bordeaux.
For those who experienced the elegant, hedonistic wines of this famous St Emilion estate - with vintages going back as far as 1985 - we hope you cherished it as much as we did.
