South-West of France in the Aquitaine region there is a delight to the eyes (and the palet), the Bovetti Chocolate factory.
Italian born Valter Bovetti started his journey in the Dordogne on 1994, and moved to Terasson in 2002 . Valter is not only a very passionate chocolatier but also an explorateur always pushing the boundaries, sourcing and learning on how to use spécifique cocoa beans from various part of the world. Then adapting new recipes like one of his award winning concept “Aperitif au chocolate” literally spices and seeds coated with chocolate, which create an excellent way to stimulate your taste buds at the beginning of the meal with a glass of champagne of wine.
Bovetti is also the biggest and most interesting Musée du Chocolat in France. A must stop for all when visiting La Dordogne. Age doesn't matter as all will be enchanted. Valter has dedicated lots of time and passion to educated his visitors on all is to know about the cocoa bean. And you can of course observe his creative team at work on site. Tasting all these wonderful, delicious and complex chocolates made me forget all the icy and snowy roads I had to endure the last 3 days. I was very fortunate that Mr Bovetti took the time to meet me to share his journey and passion with “ Le Chocolat”.
My next stop is Paris where I hope I will get to board my plane without any quarantine ??
